WILD CHILD PRODUCTIONS is creating community where:

IT’S SAFE TO BE SPICY!

Neuroaffirming Creative Movement + Social Events for Kids

(With a Dragon + Warrior theme)

45 minute sessions are child-co-led. They combine story-telling, improv, movement, yoga, agility, play-combat, & therapeutic somatic movement.

All are welcome, but sessions are designed for kiddos who have big energy, are sensory seeking, and are sensitive to rigid structure, compliance, competition or boredom.

The instructor is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-aware. It’s a place where it’s safe to be spicy!

All kids ages 1-5 and 5-11 are welcome.

Specifically intended to serve these needs:

  • ADHD + other neurotypes that seek intesity

  • ASD PDA profile and other neurotypes that are dysregulated or activated by compliance, structure, or competition

  • sensory-seeking

  • proprioceptive-input seeking

  • non-linear focus (short attention span, easily bored)

  • movement-seeking (hard time waiting, sitting still)

  • agency + autonomy needs

  • imagination + innovation (there will be a chance to share your creativity + imagination with the class)

An official ND diagnosis is not necessary - open to all spicy and/or chaotic kiddos, regardless of diagnosis, identity, labels

See class schedule for availability - a wide range of times and locations is available.

Must pre-register, walk-ins are not available.

How is it Neuroaffirming?

  • Includes a specific description about neurotype(s) that is/are best served by the offering.

  • Big movement + big noise needs are met.

  • The directions are bite-sized and the class does not sit/stay still for long periods of time.

  • Children are not shamed or judged for their own style of participation and engagement. In fact, they are celebrated for their self-expression and self-appropriateness.

  • The session is co-led and improvised depending on the needs, energy, and input of the unique children attending. The teacher is responsive and facilitates the flow, but does not enforce a rigid structure.

  • Children are given autonomy and choice as much as possible. Children are invited to lead at times, not just follow.

  • Parents are encouraged to stay, and interact with their child (a safe home base) as well as provide affirmation for the class as a whole at the end.

  • “Safety first” is expanded to mean not just physical safety but emotional safety as well. In this class, it is safe to get it wrong, encounter conflict, make mistakes, quit, and fail as needed/desired. It is safe to not be an expert, not be perfect, not be happy, not be compliant.

  • During registration, you are asked about needed accommodations plus are given space to share relevant info about your child’s preferences and style.
